US EMBASSY WARNS AMERICAN TRAVELERS OF VIOLENT PROTESTS IN FRANCE
Global Guardian Intelligence Analyst Craig Anderson was featured in USA Today, discussing how ongoing protests and nationwide strikes in France are disrupting travel and what Americans visiting the country should expect in the months ahead.
“This has now evolved from student protests to a whole-of-society movement, so we can expect unrest to persist until France is able to come to some sort of fiscal and political accommodation.”
Craig noted that the unrest may continue until France’s 2027 presidential election, as curfews and a heavier police presence keep the situation from fully spiraling but don’t resolve the underlying fiscal and political tensions driving it. He advised travelers to use secure transportation, book refundable plane and train tickets, stay away from protests or large gatherings, and keep up to date on local curfews.
