INCIDENT: Executives required consistent and effective executive protection and transportation services

LOCATION: Worldwide

SERVICES:

SITUATION:

Executives from a multinational corporation based in the United States had frequent trips to medium and high-risk international destinations planned over four months. The team that managed their travel required an effective solution to provide 24/7 protection and transportation services to mitigate any risk to the executives while keeping the busy travel schedule on track.

After attempting to coordinate internally, the client found the amount of bandwidth required to plan and manage multiple vendors for this series of trips was unsustainable. The Duty of Care client then turned to Global Guardian for assistance in providing a high-quality, vetted executive protection solution—one that the client and their executives could rely on not only for its consistency and convenience, but also its effectiveness at deterring threats in these types of destinations.

RESPONSE:

Upon completing an initial discovery call to understand the client’s needs, our executive leaders and project managers immediately began coordinating with Global Guardian’s in-country security teams, with agents who understand the local culture, language, and on-the-ground intelligence. These local teams also adhere to Global Guardian’s high service standards and regular testing procedures—all to ensure a consistent level of execution for clients.

Beyond providing a list of itineraries, there was minimal up-front work on the part of the client. Our team planned out a schedule of executive protection and transportation missions for the executives over the course of four months, all coordinated under one point of contact.

There were nine different trips, all to different locations—including Algeria, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Kenya, and Panama—with each trip ranging in length from eight to 31 days. Our team briefed the client on progress throughout the coordination process and provided a full report on the course of action.

Before each trip, our intelligence team provided the executives with country-specific travel alerts and risk reports for situational awareness. Additionally, our 24/7 Operations Center sent clear mission briefs with details about the on-the-ground agents and drivers. Our team also assisted with communication between all parties involved. With this level of high-volume travel, there were last-minute flight and hotel adjustments and our team adjusted to these changes accordingly so that there was never a break in service.

While the risks differed from location to location, our team’s on-the-ground service and execution did not. Each trip brought a new set of security challenges, but thanks to Global Guardian’s service standards and expert level coordination, and the experience of the on-the-ground teams, the traveling executives were well-protected without incident on each trip.

OUTCOMES
  • Provided consistent, high-quality executive protection and transportation services with vetted and experienced on-the-ground agents
  • Completed nine missions, all in different medium to high-risk countries, for a total of 101 travel days over the course of 120 days
  • Successfully prepared executives for all trips with risk reports and mission briefs
  • Provided smooth experience—from one onboarding period to one point of contact during execution to one invoicing process—and alleviated internal bandwidth issues for the client
