INCIDENT: A client experienced an emergency while in Paris when she was targeted by malign actors at the train station and got into a fake taxicab.

While staying in Europe, a family duty of care client decided to embark on a trip to Paris, France for Fashion Week. Due to the significant presence of high-profile and high-net-worth individuals attending the event, there were a heightened number of security threats present in the city that week—and unfortunately, the client became a target.

Upon arrival at the busy train station, the client was approached by a man asking if she needed transportation to her accommodations and she followed him to what turned out to be a fake taxicab. After loading her luggage and getting into the car, local law enforcement noticed the situation and intervened before the fake taxicab could take off. The plainclothes police officers demanded that all parties go to the police station with them. Given the language barrier, the client was confused, scared, and unsure of how to handle the situation. She contacted Global Guardian via her mobile application to seek immediate assistance.

RESPONSE:
