Tracking Icons
What do the different tracking icons on the map mean?
Tracking can be supported in the platform through a variety of different means, whether you are using the phone app to share your live location or your travel booking indicates you are due to arrive or depart at a location. These different types of tracking are indicated using different color markers on the map, described as follows:
Itineraries: Purple is used for travel itineraries in the platform. Gray icons indicate completed travel that has occurred in the past. Once active or the user has arrived in-country, the icon will change to purple, indicating the user is now on the ground for the determined duration of their trip.
Check In: Blue is used for app tracking activity such as check-ins or a call assistance with a check in-icon. This function shares the user's precise last known location to the platform at a specific date and time. It does not provide regular location updates if the user changes their current location.
Live Location: Green is used for App users who enable Live Location tracking on their mobile app. Once enabled, this map marker will appear on the map and actively update when a new location update is received from the user's device. For more information on this feature, see the Live Location page.
SOS: Red is used for an SOS sent from a user's phone app. This indicates an emergency and that the user requires assistance. When an SOS is active, it may also initiate a tracking session on the user's mobile device to continue monitoring their location and direct on-the-ground assistance where required.
Users can hover over an icon on the map to see a pop-up identifying whether a marker is an itinerary, check-in, live location, or SOS. Where users have updated their profile with an avatar, this will show on the map to help administrators quickly identify their users. Where an avatar has not been set, the map marker will display the color of their location type and the user's two primary initials.
