INCIDENT: Tourists’ safety ensured during terrorist attack in Egypt

LOCATION: Cairo; Aswan; Luxor; Hurghada, Egypt

SITUATION:  The organizers of a family trip wanted to bring their extended family on a sightseeing tour of Egypt. However, they were concerned about safety due to previous attacks on the Egyptian tourism sector. Global Guardian provided the family of 43 with security, transportation, logistical and medical support in this hostile environment. The solution included five local English-speaking agents and an expatriate team leader. A few hours after the family visited the pyramids, a terrorist attack targeting a tourist bus injured at least 16 people near the Grand Egyptian Museum, next to the pyramids in Giza.

RESPONSE: Before news of the terrorist incident had broken, our local team had already been apprised of the situation through their extensive law enforcement network. Global Guardian was able to deliver accurate information to the client amid the myriad of inaccurate reports about the incident, making our clients feel safe. The local team coordinated with local military and police to provide the family with additional security as they made their way to a secure location.
