Global Guardian completed a complex medical evacuation moving a client from Nairobi, Kenya to New York City, New York.
The client was involved in a roll-over car accident that resulted in multiple arm fractures and neck injuries. Global Guardian was notified of the accident approximately one hour after the crash. The Global Guardian Operations Team immediately instructed the traveler’s companion to download Global Guardian’s propriety mobile tracking application. Global Guardian provided medical support by advising on top hospitals in the region and also connecting the patient’s family with a U.S.-based trauma physician for advice. Concurrently, Global Guardian dispatched a local team to the hospital to meet the traveler and provide language translation, emergency cash, and payment guarantee solutions.
Once the patient was stabilized, Global Guardian organized an air medical evacuation to the patient’s hospital of choice. The client was a member of Air Ambulance, Global Guardian’s air medical program, and therefore paid $0 out-of-pocket expenses.
